Our mission

Care that keeps culture, family and Country at the centre

Indicare exists so that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders can receive the aged care they need without ever leaving culture at the door. We walk beside Elders in their own homes and communities, from a hand with the everyday through to registered nursing care.

Who we are

Indicare is a cultural aged care service working across the region. We were built from community need — families wanting support workers who understand them, and Elders wanting to stay strong at home, near kin and Country. Our team includes Aboriginal support workers, community connectors and registered nurses.

Guided by Elders

Elders help shape how we work, how we speak with families and how care is delivered on Country.

Cultural safety always

Our workers are trained in cultural safety and understand kinship, community protocols and Sorry Business.

Choice and control

You decide what support looks like, who comes into your home and how often. We follow your lead.

Local and accountable

We are part of this community, not a visitor to it — and we answer to the Elders and families we support.

Consistency matters. The same familiar faces come back each week, learn each Elder's routine and family, and chat while the work gets done — whether that is domestic help, personal care, transport or nursing.
